VOCM Cares Foundation and Metrobus in partnership with Sobeys, are once again hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive in St. John’s metro and surrounding areas from October 2-13. Please join us as we support the Community Food Sharing Association by donating non-perishable food items at the following participating Sobeys locations:
- Kelsey Drive
- Ropewalk Lane
- Topsail Road
- Merrymeeting Road
- Howley Estates – Elizabeth Avenue & Torbay Road
- Torbay Road
- Mount Pearl
- Paradise
Donations can also be dropped off at regular Metrobus routes. Monetary donations are accepted and appreciated at cfsa.nf.net
With the help of local communities, the Thanksgiving food drive will support individuals and families in need, and aid food banks in their goal that, by easing the struggles of the poorest in the province, no one goes hungry.
Facts shared by the Community Food Sharing Association:
- 30% of food bank users are children under the age of 18.
- It costs $153.03 to feed a household for one week in NL.
- For every $10 donated to Community Food Sharing Association, they can acquire and distribute $430 worth of food.
